Plant of the Week: Clematis ‘Josephine’

June 29th, 2008 · No Comments

This gorgeous show-stopper is easy-to-grow and full of colour for almost 4 full weeks.  The one pictured here is in week #3.  Plant it next to a fence so it can climb, or at the base of a bush so it can scramble through the branches.  Clematis grow well in full sun or partial shade.  After it has begun to grow in the spring - cut out all the dead wood.  While it has most of its bloom in June, it will often send out a few blossoms in the fall.

All Clematis are beautiful vines, but Clematis ‘Josephine’ is simply a standout!

Vine Height: 2.5 Meters - 10 feet

Sun or Part Shade

Will handle some drought when established.

Likes compost and well-drained soil.
