What happened here?

Yesterday, I didn’t notice a thing was wrong with this Aquilegia.  Today it looks like this.  This is classic leafminer damage.  Weeks ago, a very small insect laid eggs between the leaf layers.  Now, the larva have hatched and are chewing as they crawl. 

I will remove these leaves and put them in the compost for collection.  While a little unsightly, there usually aren’t enough of them to kill your plant - so no worries there.  And often by removing the leaves, I get some nice fresh growth later on in the summer.
